The McKenzie Watershed Council’s annual McKenzie River Cleanup is being held Saturday, September 27th, from 9am-12pm. Work together with us to protect and ensure the health of the river, our community's primary water source. Afterwards meet at Hendricks Bridge Park for a free BBQ between 12pm – 2pm!

To view available routes, visit the event website at https://www.mckenziewc.org/cleanup and contact me at chase@mckenziewc.org to sign up.

Some logistics surrounding the event:

  • Staff will be onsite at Hendricks Bridge Park (in front of the shelter) to handout supplies beginning at 8am. We will have gloves, bags, poker/grabbers, and sharps containers available (We will need the pokers and grabbers returned!). We will also have volunteer waivers to be signed as well.

  • The cleanup portion of the event will take place between 9am – 12pm. Trash can be disposed of in dumpsters at nearest boat launch or at Hendricks Park. If any tires are collected, please bring them to Hendricks Park and we will haul them to the Lane County Transfer Station. Please ensure that all trash is bagged, with the exception of oversized items.

  • BBQ! – We plan to have burgers/veggie burgers and refreshments available at Hendricks Park available before noon. Stop by, share your stories and photos with us.
