New Trout Unlimited Chapter: Klamath-Rogue Chapter Meeting: 6/17

Dear TU Members of the Klamath and Rogue Basins,

It gives me great pleasure to announce that a new chapter is forming in your area!  The new chapter will be called the Klamath-Rogue Chapter #541 and will operate in both of those critical watersheds.

The current volunteer leadership, which resides mostly in Ashland, is very excited to have projects supporting the Klamath restoration after dam removal, as well as other projects in the Klamath and Rogue watersheds.

The initial list of leaders includes the following:

President: Jeff Schlecht
Vice President: Nigel Waterton
Secretary: Bob Del Carlo
Treasurer: Mark Reeve

Board Members at large:

Steve Haskell
Robert Wallis
Jim Ferguson
Jim Burns

There will be an initial organizational meeting on June 17th.

Where: Ashland Public Library 410 Siskiyou Blvd, Ashland, OR

When: Tuesday, June 17:  6:00pm

Terry Turner, Oregon Council Vice Chair, will kick off the meeting and lead the initial formation of the chapter. Once the boring administrative stuff is completed, Jeff and the local leadership team will continue the meeting to discuss questions about the new chapter until adjournment. Terry will also give an update on the latest Klamath Dam Restoration efforts underway this year. There will be a follow-up meeting in the Klamath area in the near future. Watch for communication from the Chapter Leaders for details.

As a TU member in Oregon, you are currently assigned to either the Bend Redbands Chapter, or the Eugene Redsides chapter. Once the chapter formation process is complete, you will be assigned to the new chapter. You are welcome to remain with the Bend or Eugene chapters if you wish, or, you can elect to receive communication from both old and new chapters.
